It's only been two days now since the kids have been back in school and already I've accomplished so much.
There is such a sense of relief that goes along with checking off the 'ol project list.
This summer I really let things slide, and stuff was starting to pile up on me.
Like bad.
With swim practice twice a day, throw in karate, and my running hobby, the house became a constant state of disaster.
Now, things seem to be getting back to normal around here.
We are no longer living out of laundry baskets.
The beds are made each morning.
Dishes are washed daily (don't judge if you don't live without a dishwasher).
And dinner.
Oh yes, lovely dinner has become an actual thought in my head again...yay!
Anyhow, I completed a project that I thought was particularly fitting for the first day of school.
I turned this:
Into this:
With a little help from this:
Yup, I spray painted the top with chalkboard paint (actually not my idea), and chose green spray paint for the metal part. I then very carefully painted the wood with a nice blue, afterwards which I covered the wood in a polyurethane seal to protect it from my destructive kiddos, lol!
~I've had my hands in helping a bride (who's also my friend), make her garter for the big day. She actually wanted two, one for the tossing and one to keep. She picked out the goods and I'm putting them together for her.~
Except silly me, I forgot to buy elastic thread....oops! Looks like I'll be taking care of it this weekend after I pick some up tomorrow:)
So far school has been going good. The kids have been having fun picking out their outfits, helping me make lunches, and my favorite part is hearing about their day when they get home!
I feel like a new woman getting the house back in order. I guess I had no idea how unorganized it had gotten over the past few months until I started to put things back together. All I can say is chaotic life = chaotic April!!
Now....if only I coud get the garden up and going again....I'd be a happy camper:)
XOXO
April
