There's something exciting about fixing something all by your pretty lil self. I'm quite familiar with my husbands tools **insert snickering here** :)
N-E-ways...like I was saying, Steven, whether he knows it or not, lets me have full access to the shed of power tools. And as long as I don't call him bleeding to death, right?
Well this morning, I walked out there looking for something (don't ask me what I have no idea now) and saw my poor pitiful green bench. Remember how I slaved over it last year??
And then remember how my lard butt stepped in the middle and it broke?? Grrrrrr, talk about mad!
Well, with a little magic of wood glue, a belt sander, wood putty, and a chiseling knife....
It is on the way to being fixed.
Do you see the long line in the middle there? Well, that's where the bench cracked in two pieces. I used wood glue to adhere them back together. I had to let it sit for 24 hours. Then when I saw it was dry this morning, I sanded off the access glue and applied wood putty to the crack. After letting that dry for about 30 minutes, I sanded that down too. I brought it inside the house where it was warmer and applied the first coat of paint.
You can hardly tell there was even a crack there. Word.
I just finished the second coat and it's drying now. I think the next thing I'd like to do is make a cushion for it....but that'll have to wait for another day. I promised my sweet kids I'd take them somewhere fun :)
