Last night we did something new to celebrate New Years. We took the kids to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden's GardenFest Of Lights. I don't know why we never thought to go before, it was UH-ma-zing!! I tried my best to take good pictures, but sometimes it's hard to do at dusk and in the dark.
But here's what I did get...
Hope you enjoy, we sure did.
Hope you enjoy, we sure did.
One of the arbors. The picture at the end is the same arbor at night all lit up.
There were two train tables set up. I couldn't get enough of how elaborately they were decorated! These were only a fraction of the many photos I snapped. The tables were huge!
There also seemed to be Christmas trees at every turn. The ornaments were unlike anything I had ever seen. Simply Gorgeous! I couldn't stop taking pictures of them. Again, these were only a small fraction of what we saw...
This is the conservatory before nightfall. In the summertime, they have a beautiful butterfly exhibit. I highly recommend taking your kids to see it! Just another fabulous thing the botanical garden has to offer.
More ornaments...
They were watching the trains go round and round...
She is so silly!!
A view from the conservatory looking towards the entrance.
You may not be able to tell but it's a giant Peacock. We thought it was pretty darn cool.
More lights...
"Everybody stop and say cheese!"
Another view of the conservatory from across the pond.
Over at the kids area, they have a kids "garden". It was all lit up with giant vegetables.
This is the arbor in the beginning. I thought it looked really cool black and white. Above are what the lights looked like in color.
We weren't going to be doing anything New Years Eve because we had to be up early tomorrow for the race. It was a great way to celebrate with the kids without having to stay up late. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend going.
Hope everyone has a great New Years and again,
I'll see you in 2012!
XOXO
April
