If you've ever lived in a house with a wood stove, you understand the mess it creates, yes? For the past few months, we've been using this really cool wicker basket to bring our wood in from the front porch instead of carrying it in our arms (which I do sometimes). The basket was something I bought from the Goodwill (love that place) for $5.00, and has been great! But, I'm guessing the weight from the daily heavy lifting really took a toll on our basket...because it has started to crumble. So, this morning I asked my sweet husband if he'd make me a giant box for the wood. Which turned into a very long conversation about his ideas, blah blah blah, ( insert bickering here). All I wanted was a plain box that kept the mess contained and was made to look antique.Sheeesh. It's never simple with men. But I finally got exactly what I wanted:

| Here is my beautiful $5 basket from the Goodwill. |
 |
| One of the antique doors Steven used to build the box... |

 |
| The finished product! |
 |
| Here is a shot of the side, I had to show this detail. The doors are the perfect shade of blue. |
 |
| All filled and ready to use....but not without the help of a little one:) |
Love the old door, Im telling ya you got some great ideas. I think you should just come over & tell me what you would do with my place I seem to like your ideas:)
ReplyDeleteHaHa, any excuse to get out of the house and I'm there:) Without my trusted sidekick, some of those things would never get done. I'm the innovator, he's the executor!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting over at my place. Love this box for wood. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I somehow found your page, and was very inspired by your photos and especially the kitchen floors....I'm now trying to talk MY husband into doing the same thing:)
